GENERAL INFORMATION AND PURPOSE

COOL 016 Tile Adhesive is an elastic adhesive made from hydraulic binders, synthetic polymers, special additives, and specially selected fillers. It is intended for both exterior and interior use, for bonding tiles to tiles, as well as bonding ceramics to solid wall, floor, and facade surfaces (made of cement, lime, and concrete-based mortars).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The surface on which the ceramic tiles are laid must be solid, dry, clean, unfrozen, load-bearing, and free of grease and salts. Uneven surfaces must be repaired. For absorbent surfaces, the area must be primed with COOL acrylic primer before applying the adhesive. For renovating old bathrooms or tiles, use COOL NC 016 impregnation.
Preparation of the mixture: Mix the contents of a 25kg bag with approximately 7 liters of water, by hand or with an electric mixer, until the mixture becomes homogeneous and free of lumps. Gradually add the powder while continuously mixing. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes, then mix again intensively and, if necessary, add more water to achieve the desired consistency of the adhesive. The prepared adhesive mixture should be used within 2-3 hours.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

COOL 016 Tile adhesive is applied with a notched trowel. First, apply the adhesive using the flat side of the trowel, then spread the applied mixture using the notched side of the trowel with a notch depth of 4-6 mm for tiles of normal size (10-20 cm). For larger tiles, use a tool with a deeper notch. The covered surface of the tile with adhesive must be at least 65%. The gaps – joints between wall tiles should be filled with COOL grout after 24 hours, and floor tiles after 48 hours. The open time of the applied adhesive under normal conditions (23°C and 60% relative humidity) is 30 minutes. Prior to gluing absorbent ceramic tiles and standard tiles, immerse them in water. The optimal working temperature during tile installation should be between +5°C and +30°C. Increased humidity and low temperatures extend the drying and hardening time of the adhesive. Expansion joints should be filled with a permanently elastic sealant. Drying time from light to full load is between 24 hours and 8 days.

After laying the tiles, immediately clean the tools with water.
