COOL 09 Tile Adhesive

GENERAL INFORMATION AND PURPOSE

COOL 09 is a tile adhesive made from hydraulic binders, special additives, and carefully selected minerals. It is intended for bonding ceramics to wall and floor surfaces, suitable for installing natural absorbent stone and terracotta tiles, as well as aerated concrete blocks (siporex). Wall and floor surfaces must be solid, made of cement-based mortar, lime, and concrete.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The substrate on which the ceramic tiles are laid must be solid, dry, clean, frost-free, load-bearing, and free of grease and salts. Uneven substrates must be repaired. For absorbent substrates, porous surfaces, and concrete, the surface must be primed with COOL IMPREGNATION (as recommended by the manufacturer) before applying the adhesive.

MIXING THE MORTAR:

Mix the contents of the 25 kg bag with approximately 6.5-7 liters of water, either manually or with an electric mixer, until the mixture becomes homogeneous and free of lumps. Add the powder gradually while continuously mixing. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes, then remix it intensively and, if necessary, add water to achieve the desired adhesive consistency. The prepared adhesive mixture should be used within 2-3 hours, depending on working conditions.

APPLICATION METHOD:

COOL 09 tile adhesive is applied using a notched trowel. First, apply the adhesive with the flat side of the trowel, then spread the applied mixture with the notched side of the trowel, with tooth depth ranging from 4 to 6 mm when bonding standard-sized tiles (10 to 20 cm). For larger tiles, use a tool with deeper notches. When laying tiles, the adhesive-covered area on the tile should be at least 65%. After installation, clean the tiles and tools immediately with water. Gaps between tiles should be filled with COOL grout after 24 hours. The grout width can range from 2 to 15 mm, depending on the tile size and working conditions. The open time of the applied adhesive under normal conditions (23°C and 60% relative humidity) is 30 minutes. Before gluing, immerse absorbent ceramic tiles and standard tiles in water. The optimal working temperature for tile installation should be between +5°C and +30°C. Increased humidity and low temperatures extend the adhesive drying time. Expansion joints should be filled with a permanently elastic sealant. Drying time before light to full load is from 24 hours to 8 days.
